Technical Skills

Serving Experience

I spent around 3 years waiting tables while I was going to school. I always had a great time getting to know my patrons and working together with my coworkers.

Restaurant Experience

In addition to the 3 years I waited tables in two different restaurants, I also bused tables in my youth and learned how to appreciate role an employee plays in a restaurant.

POS System

I am very comfortable learning new POS systems. I used them throughout the 3 years I was serving and can operate them with minimal guidance.

Cash Handling

While working as a customer service representative at Albertsons I was in charge of counting the tills of the cashiers and maintaining a balance sheet. I also would often work with cash while waiting tables, as I would give change for my cash payments and I would need to calculate how much I owed or was owed by the restaurant at the conclusion of each shift.

Organizational Skills

Throughout the years spent in university and working I have developed a system of keeping not only myself, but my thoughts organized. Just like maintaining a calendar for appointments and deadlines, keeping tools and files neatly filed in their designated locations, I also believe maintaining notes is tantamount to success. Keeping names, important topics, and minor details logged has come in handy when kept close at hand.

Microsoft Word

I have used Microsoft Word all through my education. I have written countless reports, written several scripts, and utilized this program constantly since the early 2000s.

Microsoft Excel

While I have not used Excel to the extent of Word, I am very capable of using its many functions. I am very familiar with creating graphs, charts, and tables. I have worked with this software while organizing small databases and written formulae to process different algebraic calculations.

Microsoft Powerpoint

I have created many presentations throughout my time in college. I have absolute confidence in my abilities with this software and used it almost exclusively for all of my presentations.

Adobe Photoshop

I first began to dabble with Photoshop while I was in middle school. Since then I have used it extensively to create custom graphics for projects and organizations. It is more than a tool to me and I often toy with this software as a hobby, as well.

Adobe Premiere Pro

I began to use Premiere about 4 years ago while making a project for school. I used it to create videos for YouTube for a short time, but I lacked the time to devote to my roughly 1,000 subscribers. I love playing around with this software and have recently been looking into custom effects using Adobe Aftereffects. There are many examples of my work present on my site, from my presentations to short adverts I produced for a non-profit.

Adobe Audition

I have the least amount of experience with this software out of the Adobe suite. I generally use it to mix music, balance audio levels, and remove background noise/hiss from my video productions.

Javascript

I have taken this as an introductory course at the University of Texas at Dallas. I can parse only a few basic lines of code, but it is something that I am actively learning and pursuing given the future of technology.

Computer Hardware

I can identify all computer components in modern PCs. I built my own computer from scratch 4 years ago and have kept it running well with regular maintenance.

Japanese

I began studying Japanese in 2014. I took my knowledge and studied abroad at Hiroshima, Japan in 2016. I would consider myself between a level 2, or level 3, or someone who can carry on basic conversations and read everyday kanji.

Windows Operating System

I have been using the Windows operating system for about 12 years. I utilize the command prompt and RergEdit to modify system preferences and functionality.
